What To Bring To Auditions
Please bring your own sticks or mallets if possible. Those auditioning for the drum line should also bring a practice pad. Bring a water jug and wear clothes you can comfortably move around in, and wear athletic shoes. You will also need to bring a pencil, and a binder with sheet protectors for your music. There will be a one-hour lunch break during each audition day, and you will need to bring your own lunch or purchase lunch on your own during the break.

Video Audition
If you are unable to attend the three audition days, but are still interested in auditioning for IMPACT Percussion, you may submit a video audition. To submit a video audition, please make a video of yourself playing the instrument you would like to play with the ensemble. What you play and show in the video should be a good representation of where you are as a musician. You may play exercises from the audition packet at various tempos, excerpts from previous marching band, drum corps, or indoor shows you have been involved in, etc. Please upload the video online (unlisted on YouTube is preffered), and send the link to your prospective caption head. *Those auditioning for the Battery should mark time to exercises / music. FAQ:

What safety protocols will IMPACT Percussion be following throughout the audition process and the season?

IMPACT Percussion will follow all state and local health and safety guidelines throughout the season. For the most current information, please visit the Benton-Franklin Health District’s website. Masks will be required for all members and staff throughout the audition process.

I am not sure if I want to audition for the group, can I still attend the auditions to learn?

Yes! Our staff members strive to give everyone auditioning a great educational experience. Whether you make the ensemble or not, our goal is to help you become a better percussionist and musician.

Should I bring my own drum to auditions?

IMPACT Percussion will provide instruments for a full drum line and front ensemble. However, we typically see more people attend auditions than we have instruments for. If you have access to a snare, tenor, or bass drum, you are encouraged to bring it – though it is not necessary.

What is the schedule for the 2022 season?

Our full schedule for the 2022 season is still being finalized. Please visit our Online Calendar for the most up-to-date schedule. Our first rehearsal camp after auditions is the November 6th – 7th weekend (Saturday & Sunday only).
