With the start of the 2019 WGI season quickly approaching, IMPACT Percussion is excited to announce the appointment of Esteban Zarate as the ensemble’s Assistant Director.

“We are thrilled to bring Esteban on the team in an official and administrative capacity. The ensemble has grown significantly since we started four years ago, and as Assistant Director, Esteban will play a critical role in the group’s future success as we continue to grow, develop, and improve our program,” says Josh Peterson, IMPACT Percussion Director.

Esteban grew up in the Tri-Cities, and has been involved in the marching arts for more than a decade. He comes from a Drum Corps International background, having marched with Spokane Thunder, Blue Knights, and The Cadets. He is currently a low brass technician with the Chiawana High School Marching Band in Pasco. He is also actively involved with the Columbians Drum & Bugle Corps; assisting with various administrative duties and is a member of the brass instructional staff.  Outside of the marching arts world, Esteban works as an IT Specialist for Lutheran Community Services Northwest in Kennewick.

“I am extremely excited to work with IMPACT Percussion in this new role. As Assistant Director, my goals are to help the organization continue to grow and achieve a higher level of excellence on and off the floor. I want to make sure all members and staff are well-equipped to have another outstanding season,” says Esteban.

Esteban joined the IMPACT Percussion team last year as a volunteer and quickly became an integral part of the organization. For the 2019 season, Esteban will oversee several aspects of the group to help ensure all members and staff have a world-class experience as the group prepares to head back to Dayton, OH for the WGI Percussion World Championships.

Welcome Esteban!
