IMPACT Percussion is thrilled to announce and welcome back its entire show design team for the 2019 season!
All the creative minds that conceived and designed IMPACT’s 2018 production, “Into A Rose”, are returning to push the ensemble to a new level as IMPACT starts competing in WGI’s Independent Open class this upcoming season.
“We are very excited to have the whole team back together. We’re really looking forward to building off the success of last season by kicking things up a notch this year, both competitively and artistically,” says Chris Carrasco, Program Coordinator and Visual Designer.
Chris Carrasco will lead the creative process as Program Coordinator and Visual Designer.
Chris Carrasco is a full time designer, choreographer, and teacher, who has been working in the marching arts for more than 15 years. He is currently the Associate Director of Bands at James Logan High School in Union City, CA, where he oversees the design and teaching of the percussion programs. In addition to his high school responsibilities, Chris works as a visual technician for the Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps, he is the Program Coordinator and Drill Designer for the Blue Devils B Corps, and he is the choreographer for the Yokohama Scouts in Japan.
Matt Hahn will arrange the front ensemble music and create the sound design for the show.
Matt Hahn is an active designer and percussion educator in the Dayton, OH area. He is currently the program coordinator, music designer, and assistant director of the Lebanon High School marching band and indoor percussion ensemble from Lebanon, OH. In 2012, Matt founded Resonant Music Design, a company specializing in marching arts design and education of all kinds. Matt was a member of Rhythm X from 2005 – 2008 and was a staff member from 2009 – 2015. Matt also was a member of the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps from 2006 – 2007 in the front ensemble, and was a staff member from 2009 – 2012.
Rudy Garcia will arrange the battery music.
Rudy Garcia has been heavily involved in the marching arts for more than two decades. Specifically, Rudy has been an integral part of the Blue Devils percussion family as a performer, instructor, and arranger since the mid 90s. He has also been an instructor with Carolina Crown, Crossmen, Glassmen, Freelancers Indoor, and Santa Clara Vanguard Winter Percussion. Outside of arranging for IMPACT Percussion, Rudy currently teaches the Blue Devils percussion section, he arranges for Blue Devils Entertainment, and he arranges and instructs for James Logan High School in Union City, CA.
Ensemble Director, Josh Peterson, and Battery Caption Head, Kade McKeever, will also continue to be involved in the overall show design process.
“We’re essentially picking up right where we left off in 2018. We have grown and developed as a design team over the last year, and we are looking forward to giving our members an outstanding experience through our 2019 production,” says Josh Peterson.
