Do you know what you are?
You are a manuscript of a divine letter
You are a mirror reflecting a noble face
This universe is not outside of you
Look inside yourself
Everything that you want
You are already that.

– Rumi

IMPACT Percussion is proud to announce its 2020 program:
Do you know what you are?

Do you know what you are? is a story of self-discovery told through the poetic works of Rumi. Described as one of the most popular poets in the world, Rumi, who lived from 1207 – 1273, wrote about love, spirituality, individuality, self-discovery, and more.

IMPACT Percussion’s 2020 production takes audience members on a journey of reflection and enlightenment, as members search for answers to uncover what they are. As members begin the show lost as a group seeking answers, they soon discover their strength and uniqueness as individuals, before testing the limits of what they can do. After walking to the edge of their existence, members step back from the chaos to reflect on their journey, making the realization that what they were searching for was within themselves all along.

The show features original music from Matt Hahn, and an arrangement of “Chop Suey!” by System of a Down.

IMPACT’s design team, made up of Chris Carrasco (Program Coordinator & Visual Designer), Matt Hahn (Front Ensemble Arranger & Sound Designer), Rudy Garcia (Battery Arranger), Josh Peterson (Ensemble Director), and Kade McKeever (Visual Caption Head), helped bring this idea to life.
